ABOUT THE PROJECT

Set in a prime location at the heart of the Albany resort in the Bahamas, The Sanctuary Recording Studio is a new facility aimed at top global recording artists. It was designed by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels, who worked alongside UK-based White Mark, a leading acoustic and technical design firm. White Mark in turn called in long time Van Damme advocate Bill Ward of Langdale Technical Consulting to assist with the technical design and build.

The striking building offers a high-end recording facility and spacious live room, along with 5 programming studios – 2 of which have their own dedicated live room.
An SSL Duality desk is the centrepiece of the main studio, alongside Exigy monitors and around half a million dollars of outboard gear. The entire cabling infrastructure of the recording studio was supplied through Van Damme main distributor VDC Trading and included large amounts of Van Damme Blue Series – over 2 km of 24, 16, 12 and 8-pair – as well as Van Damme Green Series and Van Damme 2 x 6 mm Hi-Fi speaker cable.

The studio opened at the end of 2017 and has already welcomed top names from the music industry, including Alicia Keys, whose engineer Ann Mincieli manages The Sanctuary.
