The VDM system is designed around a bayonet and thread operation for fast, fuss-free and reliable mating, and utilises a pip and groove arrangement to eliminate misalignment. The connectors when mated have an audible snap in, which seals the pair to a watertight condition for up to 12 hours, as well as making the release resistance so high as to make accidental disconnection impossible. The back shell is machined from solid alloy and has tapped anti-turn points as well as a highly resistant black finish and a tapped cover chain point. It can be fitted with a saddle clamp, compression clamp or a full basket weave compression clamp assembly for the most demanding environments.
