Universal Camera Broadcast Series
Transmission grade universal camera cable
This cable has been specifically designed for the interconnection of
professional cameras to video tape recorders (VTRs) and camera control
units (CCUs). The high tolerances applied to all the individual components
allow long cable runs to be used with confidence - 200 metre assemblies
have been thoroughly tested successfully. All video cores are high precision,
and the overall diameter has been specifically sized to the industry standard
HRS JRC 26 pole connector. In addition the polyurethane (PUR) outer jacket
coupled with the overall tinned copper braid provides the mechanical strength
required for use in outside broadcast applications.
Materials
There are 5 completely different elements that make up this cable
type - 75 and 50 Ohm coaxials, balanced audio pairs, 0.6mm DC power conductors
and 0.12mm data tracers. The copper used for all is as per other Van Damme
cable types Ultra pure oxygen free and the insulation materials chosen
for each element are the most appropriate to the high specification and
performance required. Please see the technical specification for the insulation
material used for each element. Further descriptions of the insulation
properties can be found in other sections of the Van Damme cable listing.
The required number of individual elements listed above are
cabled together with natural textile fillers to increase the overall strength
of the cable. A special anti-static separator tape is then applied and
a >85% optical coverage braid of tinned copper is added. The extruded
jacket is polyurethane (PUR) chosen for its outstanding toughness and
abrasion resistance.
Applications
All professional video camera to VTR or CCU cable runs
