Van Damme has released new Cat 7 solid and Cat 6A flexible TourCats, after an intensive design period that included three stages of design prototyping. Both cables are suitable for 10G and Gigabit applications, and the increased headroom of both designs makes them ideal for the Gigabit based digital audio environment.
Van Damme 268-470-000 TourCat Cat 7 S/FTP solid conductor is a polyurethane (PUR) jacketed 0.56 mm solid conductor cable with individually screened pairs and an 80% coverage overall braided screen. Fluke DTX cable analyser testing confirms a Gigabit channel link distance of 105 metres, and a 10G channel link distance of 95 metres.
Van Damme 268-466-000 TourCat Cat 6A S/FTP stranded conductor is a flexible PVC jacketed 26AWG stranded conductor cable with individually screened pairs and a 75% coverage overall braided screen. Fluke DTX cable analyser testing confirms a Gigabit channel link distance of 75 metres, and a 10G channel link distance of 60 metres.
Full Fluke test results, including Category 6A testing, are available on the relevant product page’s downloads.
Van Damme have also introduced 2 Category 6A shielded RJ45 connectors to complement these cables, the larger of which will fit cables with an overall diameter of up to 8.00 mm and a conductor diameter of 1.50 mm.
